I bough a very big cauliflower from a 10 years (or so) old boy selling vegetables. He gave me a good price and he is my new favorite vegetable vendor. But now I have to put cauliflower into every dish. I even tried to get rid of it by feeding parts of it (the green parts) to a cow near my apartment. But still I have so much left!

Inspired by the simplicity of this recipe: http://ituhippi.livejournal.com/46884.html (in Finnish only, sorry), I decided to modify it to my needs. Originally it was for tofu and mushrooms.
I will definitely try this recipe again. It was quick and fun to do, simple but still surprisingly tasty! Next time I maybe try with tofu and/or mushrooms, like in original recipe, but I think this fill fit with other vegetables as well. I think carrot would taste good in this also, and paneer (paneer tastes always good :). And I think with noodles this would be yum as well.

Ginger Cauliflower
  • 2-3dl small cauliflower florets
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green capsicum (in original recipe yellow capsicum), long slices
  • 4-5 cm piece of ginger, in long thin slices
  • 3 cloves of garlic (in original recipe only clove, but I honestly can not understand how can you manage to make any dish with only one clove)
  • soy sauce
  • oil for frying
  1. Prepare vegetables
  2. Heat oil in frying pan, using high temperature so remember to stir all the time(!)
  3. Add cauliflower florets, fry couple of minutes
  4. Add ginger, garlic, fry minute or two
  5. Add onions, fry minute or two
  6. Add capsicum and some soy sauce, fry minute or two.
  7. Serve with rice or noodles (I used rice, but I think this will fit even better with noodles)
