I tasted some excellent smoked paprika cashew nuts, and I started to wonder, what if.. What if I could do same kind of nuts myself and save some money (they were very expensive), or maybe someday even better ones. And why stick to one kind of nuts, as there are so many other flavors as well.
So I started doing some experiments. First patch was ruined, as I got stuck Facebooking, and when I went to check the oven, I found some very bad tasting black nuts. Yuck. OK, new try. This time I was careful not to burn them.
I have to be honest, the nuts are tasting kinda good, but not excellent. Maybe too much smoked paprika or something. But this mean only one thing, we need more experiments! So stay tuned!
- 2 dl of nuts
- 1 tbsp of oil
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
- 2 tbsp of soy sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
- Pre-heat oven to 180 C
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl
- Cook for 10 minutes or so (be careful not to burn them!)
- Nuts can be stored for one month if kept in airtight container
