For the first time in my life I tasted home made sushi. And it was awesome! Why didn’t I try this before? It was so easy to do and the taste didn’t differ much from what I have tasted in restaurants.

Sushi
 
Ingredients
  • 250 g sushi rice
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 5 nori seaweed sheets
  • Two carrots, cut to long sticks
  • Half a cucumber, cut to long sticks
  • Ripe avocado, cut to long slices
  • One paprika, cut to long sticks
  • Bamboo mat
  • Soy Sauce
  • Wasabi
  • Chopsticks
Instructions
  1. Wash rice in cold water and drain
  2. Cover with cold water and let stand for 20 minutes
  3. Drain and rinse
  4. Add rice to 4 dl of water in a pan, bring to boil
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes
  6. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temparature
  7. Mix in the vinegar and sugar
  8. Place nori sheet on bamboo mat
  9. spread out the rice on nori sheet, leave 2 cm border at the top
  10. Place bowl of water near you and dip your fingers there once in a while so that the rice doesn't stick
  11. Place vegetables in the middle of seaweed and roll the sheet using mat
  12. Dampen the top border with water and roll it up firmly
  13. Cut rolls to about 1-1,5 cm wide slices
  14. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi and eat with chopsticks
