Some time ago I promised to publish the better version of Chili Sin Carne. Now the time has come!

Chili Sin Carne 2
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • some olive oil
  • some fresh chilies, chopped
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • salt and pepper
  • 450 gr textured soy protein or seitan
  • 1 can of sun dried tomatoes
  • 2 cans of whole tomatoes
  • cinnamon stick
  • 2 cans of kidney beans
  • 1 dl water
  1. Use food processor and paste sun dried tomatoes with some olive oil
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan
  3. Saute chilies, jeera, onions and garlic
  4. Add sun dried tomato paste, tomatoes, cinnamon and water
  5. Cover with lid, reduce heat and cook for one hour
  6. Add kidney beans and soy protein. Cook for 30 minutes more. The dish is ready
  7. Serve with rice, nachos, white bread, guacamole and you favorite dip
  8. Tastes even better next day
