This was the first time I have cooked tempeh, and also maybe the first time I have ever eaten tempeh. We had no idea what to do with it, so we used Alma’s famous recipe for delicious tofu steaks and added some lemon juice, as couple of first tempeh recipes found on Google search seemed to be using it. We have to prepare these again, soon!

Tempeh Steaks
  • Plenty of soy sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Black pepper
  • Tempeh in 1 cm thick slices
  • Olive oil
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan
  2. Add soy sauce, lemon juice, black pepper and tempeh slices
  3. Fry from both sides on high heat until done (about five minutes)
